Gaza 'flotilla member' to address Dublin Rally

Dr Fintan Lane - a participant in the humanitarian flotilla intercepted and detained by Israeli Defence Forces - will be among the speakers at the 'End the Siege of Gaza' rally in Dublin, on Saturday (June 5).

Other speakers include former Congress president, Patricia McKeown - who led a trade union delegation to the region, including Gaza, in 2007 - Labour Party president, Michael D Higgins, and TD's Aengus O'Snodaigh (SF) and Chris Andrews (FF) who were prevented from joining the flotilla at Cyprus.

The event is being organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and supported by Congress.

The rally will assemble at 2 pm on Saturday at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square, where a wreath will be laid in remembrance of those who died during the assault on the flotilla before proceeding to the Department of Foreign Affairs at St Stephens Green.
